Darcy Phillips runs an anonymous dating advice business out of a locker at school. When Alexander Brougham catches her one day, he threatens to expose her identity unless she agrees to become his personal dating coach and help him win back his ex-girlfriend. She (begrudgingly) accepts because she’s desperate to make sure that her best friend Brooke — who she’s also secretly in love with 😳 — never finds out that Darcy’s the one behind the locker for ✨reasons 👀. So, Darcy tries to help Brougham fix his love life, but of course things don’t go as planned 😉.
TLDR; a messy disaster bi gives dating advice to her classmates while her own love life is in shambles, like a more PG version of Sex Education (which is an EXCELLENT show that I plan to write about later 💅🏼)
I generally don’t enjoy stories about high school characters very much, so I was surprised that I ended up reading this in almost one sitting! Sometimes the main character was a little annoying, but I liked that she had flaws and tried to fix them. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the writing style but given how much I enjoyed the book nonetheless, I’m just being nit-picky. It was a very fun, light-hearted read with a rewarding enemies-to-lovers slow-burn that had great casual representation and addressed biphobia and queerphobia well!

As someone who also rationalizes their feelings, this line felt like a personal callout. I felt surprisingly seen by a lot of the characters and their insights in this book.
